Education for a Better
Tomorrow

From libraries in conflict zones to coding centres for digital futures — we are rewriting the story of education in Northern Nigeria, one school at a time.

When Schools
Are Not Enough

Northern Nigeria has one of the lowest school enrollment rates in the country. In the North East, the Boko Haram insurgency destroyed hundreds of schools, displaced millions of children, and broke the cycle of learning that families had relied on for generations.

Inara Foundation's education programs go beyond classroom walls — we build the infrastructure, tools, and human capacity that make learning not just possible, but transformational.

Four Education Pillars

Each programme targets a distinct gap in the education chain — from primary school infrastructure to policy advocacy at the highest levels.

Learning Centres & Libraries

Our flagship intervention. Inara Foundation has established libraries and learning centres in government primary and secondary schools across Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States — places where most children had never held a story book beyond their worn textbooks.

Each centre is stocked with age-appropriate books, educational materials, and computer systems — managed by trained staff and open to all students in the school community.

  • 16 centres established across the Northeast
  • Thousands of books donated and distributed
  • Computer literacy sessions for primary pupils
  • Annual Science & Spelling Bee competitions
  • JAMB support for 450+ students pursuing higher education

Coding, Programming & Robotics Centres

Technology is not a luxury — it is the language of the future. Inara Foundation established coding and robotics training centres in Maiduguri to equip young people in the North East with practical digital skills that open doors to the global economy.

Students learn programming fundamentals, robotics assembly, drone mapping, and digital problem-solving — skills that were previously inaccessible to youth in conflict-affected communities.

  • Coding & programming training for secondary students
  • Robotics assembly and engineering fundamentals
  • Drone technology and mapping introductions
  • Partnerships with technology organizations nationally
  • NOTAP Technology & Innovation Summit participation

Teacher Training & Capacity Building

The best library means nothing without skilled, motivated teachers. Inara Foundation runs structured training workshops for educators across government schools in the Northeast — improving pedagogy, classroom management, and the use of educational technology.

We also employ and train local graduates as learning centre staff, creating jobs while building the human capital that schools desperately need.

  • Structured pedagogical training workshops
  • Classroom management and child-centred learning
  • Recruitment of local graduates as centre managers
  • Ongoing mentorship and performance support
  • Collaboration with state ministries of education

Policy Formulation & Advocacy

Sustainable change requires systemic transformation. Inara Foundation engages government, civil society, and international bodies to shape education policies that protect and prioritize conflict-affected children in the Northeast.

Our team has participated in national and international conferences — from the CAREED Conference at the University of West Scotland to the NOTAP Innovation Summit in Lagos — to amplify the voices of communities that rarely get heard.

  • Engagement with Borno, Adamawa & Yobe State Governments
  • CAREED Conference participation (University of West Scotland)
  • NOTAP Technology & Innovation Summit, Lagos
  • British Council partnership programs
  • Research and documentation of education challenges
